James Bond, Quantum of Solace
I watched the sequel to casino royal last saturday...
in my opinion i think that it was an okay film, when i say okay, i mean it was just okay, it wasn't particulary great, but it was really bad either.
But considering the success of Casino Royal, i kind of expected Quantum of Solace to be pretty good. I guess it just didn't meet the high expectations set by the predessor. So, despite beinig a moderate film on its own, i guess it was a let down compared to Casino Royale.
The plot was actually like a sequel, as it continued from the storyline earlier on. from my memory, i this was the first 007 film to actually have a continued base storyline, it was good in the aspect that it was new, never done before. BUT because of that, it kind of made the film less exciting because it would draw direct comparisons to the previous film. Although i think the action scenes were done quite well, this is not the usual 007 persona as i think he looses the sophistication.
One thing that kind of bugged me was, what the hell did "quantum" of "solace" mean? even until the end i didn't really get why the hell did Forster select a name like that... but i guess it doesnt really matter.
