There are many themes in Science Fiction Films such as
- Disaster Films, where a disaster takes place on a large scale, there can be a range of disasters for a disaster movie, such as enviromental disasters, or alien invasions.
eg. The War of the Worlds (1953, 2005), Waterworld (1995), The Day after tomorrow(2004)
-Monster Films, on the other hand, monster films show how science has affected certain creatures and the impact that make to the world.

-Robots and Artifical Life Films, often show a struggle between humans and artifical intelligience.
eg. Logan's Run (1976), The Terminator (1984)
-Identity and Mind, show Alternate history, where different technology is showed to be true and how it affects humans.
eg. The Matrix (1999)
Personally, i like disaster Films and Monster films the most. in Disaster films, there us usually computer generated graphics, in movies where this is used effectively, i find the film being very interesting as i like watching these CG graphics. Such as in the film The Day After Tomorrow
(2004), there many scenes where the city is flooded and frozen, this could definatly not be filmed on a real set, but with CG graphics, the scene was filmed realistically, this is why i like Disaster films the most.
